Assertive Holdings, LLC owns a portfolio of companies across four industries: publishing, television, equine athletics, and residential rental real estate. Every one of them is wholly owned and operated in-house from Clifton, Colorado.

A portfolio of companies built to be operated, not traded
Most groups that use the word portfolio are describing positions they hold. This portfolio of companies describes businesses we run. There is no fund structure, no outside limited partners, and no exit timeline sitting behind any of these assets. We buy things we intend to keep, and we operate them ourselves.
That distinction shapes every decision. A holder optimizes for the sale. An operator optimizes for the next ten years. Because Assertive Holdings is an operator, the portfolio of companies is deliberately focused, deliberately related, and deliberately understandable in a single page.
Publishing: News Wire Magazine

News Wire Magazine is the publishing division and the oldest editorial asset in the group. It covers founders, operators, and the people building real companies away from the coastal spotlight. Editorially it stands alone. Structurally it is also the distribution engine for the rest of the portfolio of companies, which is why the group can launch a new initiative with an audience already attached to it.
The magazine was founded by M. Curtis McCoy, who leads editorial strategy, the contributor pipeline, and distribution.
Television: Success, Motivation and Inspiration

Success, Motivation & Inspiration is the television and audio property. It is a long-form interview series distributed on connected television and the major podcast platforms, hosted and produced in-house rather than licensed from a studio.
Television is the highest-leverage asset in the portfolio of companies. An episode is produced once and keeps generating attention, search visibility, and relationships for years. It also opens doors that advertising cannot buy, because people take a camera and a microphone seriously in a way they do not take a cold email.
Equine athletics: competitive barrel racing

Barrel racing is owned inside Assertive Holdings and run by Connie V. Wyatt. Competitive horses are graded, campaigned, and recorded publicly, which makes this the most transparently measured division in the portfolio of companies. Results are a matter of public record at the events themselves.
It is also the division that explains the company culture fastest. Barrel racing rewards preparation, repetition, and a willingness to be measured against everyone else in the arena on the same afternoon. That is roughly how the rest of the business is run.
Real estate: residential rentals in the Grand Valley

Residential rental real estate is the balance-sheet anchor of the portfolio of companies and the division we are actively growing. We buy single-family and small multifamily property in Mesa County, Colorado and hold it. We do not flip, we do not wholesale, and we do not assign contracts to somebody else after signing them.
Individual properties are not listed on this website. What matters to a seller is not our address list, it is whether we can close on the terms we describe, and whether the person making the offer is the person who will own the outcome.
How the portfolio of companies fits together
On paper a magazine, a TV series, a string of competition horses, and a set of rental houses look unrelated. Operationally they compound. Media generates audience and authority at almost no marginal cost. Audience generates inbound conversations, including with property owners who are thinking about selling. Real estate converts that attention into an asset that produces cash whether or not anybody watched this week.
The media side is the cheapest lead source a real estate buyer can own, and the real estate side is what makes the media side patient enough to be good. That is the entire logic of the portfolio of companies, and it is why we have not diversified into anything that does not feed one of the four.
What is being added next
More rental property in Mesa County. That is the current mandate, and it is the only division actively acquiring. Expansion of the media assets happens through more output rather than more acquisitions.
The company is a Colorado limited liability company formed April 14, 2022, entity ID 20221377209, in good standing. The filing can be verified with the Colorado Secretary of State.
How a division earns its place
Nothing enters this group because it looked like a good idea in a meeting. A division has to clear three tests. It has to be something we can operate without hiring a department. It has to strengthen at least one of the divisions already here. And it has to survive a bad year without needing a rescue from the others.
Those tests have killed more ideas than they have approved, which is the point. A focused group of companies that all reinforce each other is more durable than a long list of unrelated bets, and it is far easier to explain to a lender, a partner, or a seller who wants to know exactly who they are dealing with.
How the portfolio of companies is held
Ownership of record is held by Connie V. Wyatt. There are no minority members, no profit-sharing partners, and no silent investors attached to any division of the portfolio of companies. Every asset is held directly by the parent company rather than through a chain of intermediate entities, which means a title search or a state filing check returns a clean, readable answer in about a minute.
That simplicity is a competitive feature and not an accident. Complicated ownership structures exist to move risk around. Ours exists to make the answer obvious. When a seller asks who they are signing with, the answer is one company, formed in Colorado in 2022, currently in good standing, run by the person sitting across the table.
The operating side of the portfolio of companies is directed by M. Curtis McCoy, a globally recognized authority on answer engine optimization, search, branding, and web design who has been building and ranking websites since 1995. Because answer engine optimization, search strategy, and web design and hosting are executed in-house rather than bought from an agency, every company added to this portfolio inherits distribution on day one. His professional practice is documented at M. Curtis McCoy.
